<NATURE - NATURE WORLD: CODE A>
<NATURE - NATURE WORLD: CODE A>
For OOPSIE, the title song, it is impressive that its narrative has been extended from that of 'I'm So Pretty' which was Nature's last title song. It's subtle that an attempt to construct Nature's narrative-concept which goes across albums and projects has occurred at this time at which Nature tries to open up the first door to Nature World after they have undergone changes in their members. Though it's hard to say that the narrative itself is fresh or impressive, it's not that worn-out or occupied as well. So it may be good to try it a couple more time and remain it as a branch of Nature's narrative.
However, I felt that it's looser than their last song which used the hook between simple non-melodic verses to avoid being bored and make used to it. First, I don't know why they used two choruses. Both choruses are lukewarm without bursting, and each chorus repeats each pattern twice, so they seemed drooping.
Conclusively, I think it's meaningful at the point of narratives but bad that lack of compactness at the point of music.
When I turned to the next track, Bing Bing, Lu's voice was impressive. Though she didn't take many parts, it seems like she decorated the song well with her unique voice. As I thought at their debut song, I think her bright and positive voice may be good to work as an essential effect amid the whole vocal arrangement of the team.
And other than Lu, I also felt that Sohee had a nice groove and vocal technique.
In What's Up, Nature showed cool and trendy. It seemed to be connected to the real present narratively, and get matured and better in sound and sensibility. In the middle of the album, this song makes great immersion.
Saebom's voice worked well in this song. Her mild and groovy voice should be fabulous at this kind of clear and lyrical song. In my personal opinion, Saebom's voice is the most beautiful when it isn't made-up heavily but is a moderate bare face.
I don't understand why Drinkin' has been here on the 4th track. It's not that bad as a song itself. It has a nice groove and firm structure. And it also seems unique and fresh as Nature hasn't tried this kind of style. So I think if this album was a 6 or 7 tracks-containing album, it would work to use this song to refresh the mood in the middle of the album. But it's five containing. And this song is the fourth which is a track before the end. The album's narrative got disordered rapidly in this song and the next track never talked about it. Then the album got ended. How baffling! It's remained a nasty taste.
Though it has less connectivity on the narrative, 'My Sun, My Moon, My Star', the last track, seems closing the album well. For the sound and structure are retro-style, it seems a little bit formulaic but also warm and lyrical. So It's like connected to the song 'A Little Star' which was in Nature's last album.
I think it's a good idea in point of narrative to include this kind of ballad song in each album. It could be another branch of Nature's story to walk the connection between the story of each song. Or maybe the story of a little star already has been started.
Even though it's not an album with lots of songs, it was so glad to see lots of styles and figures which have been trendy and matured. However, there was some roughness and awkwardness in structure here and there.
Now Nature's opening up the new fantasy, Nature World. I wish with all my heart Nature gets grown and blooms perfectly based on their bunch of charms, though they aren't perfect yet.
